1. Measure your face
Measure your forehead. Measure your forehead with a tape measure. Measure from the peak of one eyebrow arch to the arch of the opposite eyebrow and record that number.
Measure your cheekbones. Measure with a tape measure. Measure the distance between your upper cheek. Start and end with the bulge below the outer corner of each eye. Write down that number.
Measure your chin. Measure with a tape measure, from the bottom of the chin to the bottom of the ear. Stop where your chin is up. Multiply this number by two and write down that number.
Measure the length of your face. With a tape measure, measure from the center of your forehead (at your hairline) to the bottom of your chin. Write down that number.
2. Judge your face shape
"Oval face.". The length of an oval face is about 1.5 times the width of your face. The forehead is a little bigger than the chin, and the angle of the chin is more round. The oval face looks like an egg.
"Round face.". The width and length of the round face are the same. Round face has round chin, plump cheek and round hairline. It makes you look younger than other shapes.
"Rectangular face.". A rectangular face is much wider than its forehead. The size of the forehead, cheekbones and chin of a rectangular face will be similar. A rectangular face may have a high forehead.
Heart shaped face. This face is very common. In a heart-shaped face, the chin is the narrowest part. The heart-shaped face has a broad forehead, wide cheekbones and a pointed chin.
"Square face.". The length of the square face is almost equal to its width. The distance from the forehead to the chin is roughly the same as the distance from the cheek to the cheek.
"Triangle face". The triangular face is characterized by a large chin, slightly smaller cheekbones and a small forehead. The triangle face can be any length. Triangular faces are also known as pear shaped surfaces.
3. Choose a suitable hat
"Oval face" choose the hat. This is the shape of the face. You can try any kind of hat and bring something that suits your mood, as long as the hat is in harmony with your clothes. A woman with an oval face can wear any hat.
"Round face" chooses the hat. Add something asymmetrical to your appearance, such as a fedora, a newsboy's cap or a baseball cap. This symmetrical face needs a new angle, which is asymmetry. It's wise to choose a high crown and straight brimmed hat to give your face more angle and distract people's attention from your facial curves.
"Rectangle face" select the hat. Try wearing a low hat, such as a sun hat or a fedora hat with a large brim. Because the big frame of the sun hat can offset the length of the face. Avoid wearing a hat with a high crown because it will only lengthen your face, and a hat that goes down to the eyebrows can cover your high forehead and give the impression that your face is shorter.
"Heart face" choose hat. You can wear a hat with a medium frame, such as a fedora hat with a medium brim, a boat cap, a pea cap or a beret. These hats balance the width of your forehead. Slanting your hat to one side will make your face slim and attract people's attention. Avoid wide brimmed hats, which only accentuate your forehead and shrink your chin.
Square face chooses hat. Symmetrical face needs circular features to soften the edge of the face, and the dome and edge will play this role, smoothing a square face, inducing the illusion of height and roundness, so choosing a sun hat with sunglasses or a cowboy hat with elegant maxi dress will have a feminine feeling. Don't wear a hat with a short border or a hat without a border, and don't wear a square hat. Both types of hats emphasize your angular shape.
Triangle face selects the hat. A triangular face is like an oval face. When it comes to hats, there are actually many choices for this shape. But make sure your hat brings balance to your shoulders. Don't choose a crown hat that is narrower than your cheekbones.
